Information on new prescription diet pills
Empatic®

Empatic® is another new diet drug in the works that is created by Orexigen Therapeutics. Like Contrave and Qnexa, Empatic is one drug paired up with another forming a remarkable mixture for weight loss. Empatic is part Zonisamide and part Bupropion. Zonisamide is the generic name of the drug, a more common name is the trademark Zonegran® and Bupropion is often known better as the trademarks Zyban® and Wellbutrin® the mixtures experimented with range from 120mg of SR (Sustained Release) Zonisamide to 360mg. The Bupropion SR amounts ranged from 280mg to 360mg. Studies had people losing upwards of 10% of their body weight during a 24 week period. This drug definitely meets the FDA requirements for an obesity drug. Side effects where vary common with other trial medications for weight loss including head ache, insomnia, nausea among other mild to moderate effects.
As with Tesofensine, Empatic is behind the likes of Contrave, Lorcaserin and Qnexa in timing. Empatic still needs to undergo stage three testing to have more proof that it is as effective as it needs to be and shows side effects within a reasonable rate. Because of the lack of stage three testing results there is not a lot to report on this medication as of yet. But it definitely holds much promise if the testing continues to hold the results it has had so far.
